en: The first part of this article argues that descriptivism as proposed by Moritz Schlick does not correctly understand the function of moral judgements. The second part argues that emotivism does not provide an adequate explanation of the role of reason in ethics. Finally, the article shows how the universal prescriptivism proposed by R. M. Hare furthers the solution of the problems of emotivism, since it extends the role of reason in ethics and in the resolution of the problems of descriptivism, given that it understands the function of moral judgements in ordinary language.>>>

en: Political subjectification cannot be conceived separately from ethical, artistic and spiritual manifestations of politics. This is the case since these realms have different effects on what is usually understood as “common”, and they reconfigure new ways of conceiving the political subject through unusual paths of subjectification. Political subjectification is problematized here from the perspective of three different readings: the critical one, following Michel Foucault; a certain interpretation of artistic practices, as it is analyzed by Jacques Rancière; and a conception of spirituality and politics following Simone Weil.>>>
en: The article states that a posteriori necessary sentences as proposed by S. Kripke require a weak understanding of necessity. This means: a) contingent existence of designatum (non-existence in any counterfactual situation), and b) rationalist dependence on a priori logical principles, particularly those of difference and identity. The main consequence is that a posteriori necessary sentences correspond to instances of these logical principles. Contrary to rationalism, this does not require that these be a priori sentences, given that their justification requires empirical information. Finally, the article argues that the distinction between denotation and designation supports the idea that weak necessity applies to instances of the class, and cannot be applied to the class itself, thus avoiding referential indeterminism.>>>

en: The revival of interest in Hegel in contemporary philosophical world is based on several reasons: the overcoming of the dualism between conceptual scheme and content (Davidson, McDowell), the dissipation of the myth of the given (Sellars, Quine), and inferentialism (Brandom). Regarding the first point, John McDowell tries to overcome this dualism by making use of Hegel, whose rhetoric requires domestication. The article seeks to illuminate the scope and some limitations of this proposal in its attempt to dismantle philosophy from a permanent movement between the myth of the given or immediacy, on the one hand, and coherentism, on the other.>>>
en: Critics who have interpreted Feyerabend’s work as radical relativism do not do justice to his intentions and do not understand the unity of his work, in particular, his later abandonment of relativist ideals. This article seeks to distinguish the diverse Feyerabend’s positions regarding relativism and exposes his reduction to absurdity of the ideas of science belonging to logical positivism and critical rationalism. It also addresses the way in which Feyerabend postulated relativism when faced with the absence of criteria to discern the scientific task. It argues, however, that at the end of his life Feyerabend seeked to construct a metaphysics of abundance in order to surpass relativism.>>>

en: The interdisciplinary nature of the “Capability Approach” (CA) has resulted in its dissemination in a broad range of journals. As a result, the CA has spread to political philosophy and economic development and its scope has been expanded to be used as a theoretical framework in the creation of indicators on deprivation, quality of life or health. It has also been used to approach issues of higher education and the impact of technology on people’s lives. The article offers an overview of the main concepts used in this approach, seeking to differentiate A. Sen and M. Nussbaum’s proposals, in order to analyze sustainability and its inclusion in the approach agenda.>>>
en: This article argues for the possibility of the State to be tolerant when acting as arbitrator in tolerance conflicts. Two objections are considered, depending on how political conflicts, and in particular tolerance conflicts, are described. The article presents a theory of political descriptions and shows how this theory can respond in a politically satisfactory manner to the two objections initially raised. Finally, it discusses the relationship between the justification of political actions in an ideal normative context and its justification in more local, non-ideal contexts where the political action takes place.>>>

en: This article seeks to clarify Adam Smith’s treatment of the so called “moral luck” problem. While Smith’s position is not simple or evident, the articles shows that Smith’s thesis affirms the existence of consequential moral luck based on the impartial spectator. It does so by highlighting the methodic meaning of his procedure and analyzing certain key issues, such as the character the appeal to nature and the teleological justifications. Four structural moments are distinguished (observation of paradox, explanation, social justification and decision of the issue based on the impartial spectator) and it is argued that only in the latter is his position decided.>>>

en: According to Alasdair MacIntyre, the liberal University is based on fictions that hide its purposes and provide a misleading legitimacy. This critique has not always been understood in its depth and is often seen as a reactionary attitude, nostalgic for the medieval University. This article analyzes these fictions: over-specialization as a synonym for deep research, neutrality and objectivity as enablers of rationalism, and excellence in management as a form of ensuring its objectives. It shows how this indictment manifests a revolutionary position, influenced by Marx and Nietzsche, which seeks to unmask the internal contradictions of the liberal University.>>>

en: The article shows the general features of the postmodern notion of moral subject in Vattimo’s work following his interpretation of Nietzsche and Heidegger, according to which the continuity between these thinkers only occurs on the horizon of a new ontology. This ontology is specified with the conducting thread of Bataille’s notion of gift, which makes it a nihilist ontology of the gift (of being as a gift). Furthermore, the subject is defined as an agent of the gift, capable of receiving the gift of being as a call of the past and, simultaneously, capable of mediating a response configured as a gift for the future. This subject can be such only if it is de-substantized, or, according to Bataille’s notion of gift, self-immolated.>>>

en: The notion of interpretation developed in the critical rationalism of Karl R. Popper displays specific attributes that substantially distinguish it from the constituent interpretation of experience defended in both N. R. Hanson and T. Kuhn proposals. The article shows that the interpretation of Popper’s model is trapped in an empiricist epistemology that radically separates it from all hermeneutic philosophy.>>>
