The yerba mate’s colonization originated the agrarian social subject and arranged the economic units in the late LisandroRodríguez.“Producción y comercialización cooperativa yerbatera en los márgenes. La provincia argentina de Misiones. La provincia argentina de Misiones (1991-2014)” / “Production and Cooperative Trading of Yerba Mate in the Margins. The Province of Misiones, Argentina (1991-2014)”. RIVARVol. 3,Nº 9, ISSN 0719-4994, IDEA-USACH, Santiago de Chile, septiembre 2016, pp. 54-79.nineteenth century. Its ending coincided with the exhaustion of the expansion of the agricultural frontier and led to the reconfiguration of farms, associated with an increase in the number of small units. It also entailed a process of concentration and integration of production, manufacturing and tradingof traditional crops (yerba mate, tobacco and tea); this process caused greater dependence of small and medium producers. Therefore, the context produced a crisis in the traditional forms of association. The aim of this paper is to analyze the current strategies of small producers dedicated to the cropping of yerba mate, who are nucleated in cooperatives. Also, to recognize the association expressions manifested in domestic units related to changes in traditional forms of grouping, which are externalized from the last decades of the twentieth century. The final purpose is to recognize the impact of the new model of accumulation in a marginal region such as the NEA. The focus of analysis is placed in production, trading and distribution.>>>

en: This piece of work intends to look at the wine industry in the interwar period mirror, from a perspective that not only considers trials and errors but that also emphasizes in the analysis of the “inherited”in public policy as well as in the positions of the political actors and national and provincial corporate towards crises. Ana María Mateu.“La vitivinicultura mendocina de entreguerras. Herencia e innovación en las crisis productivas (1914-1940)” / “Mendoza’s Viticulture During the Interwar. Inheritance and Innovation in Productive Crises (1914-1940)”. RIVARVol. 3, Nº 9, ISSN 0719-4994, IDEA-USACH, Santiago de Chile, septiembre 2016, pp. 80-109.A thorough analysis ofthe time, not only pointing at the regulators market instruments and their limited success in time, allows us to see from a broader perspective the repeated change proposals for the structural features of the production and trade model, attempts that wereformulated since the beginning of the century and that allow us to highlight the burden of heritage in the actions of the Junta Reguladora and the significant presence of the State since the founding days. The viticulture of this period has not been absent in the literature of the time. However, this article aims to build some reformulations to show the continuity of those strategies that have not only tried to solve market failures andthat were marking a path that agroindustry has not finished yet and constitute a valuable precedent of the ongoing “wine reconversion”.>>>

en: In this investigation, we analyse a selection of labels of Chilean typical productsdated between 1900 and 1960, thatwere gathered from the Register of Brands of the National Institute of Industrial Property (INAPIin Spanish). The criteria for the selection was considering the most representative cases in design and messages, casessthat transmitscultural, social and geographical elements with local producers of Pisco, Chicha, Pajarete, Chacolí, Chamantos, Sidra de papaya and Vinos Asoledos were related. All these products were competing with import trade. Analysing the labels we can find foreigner influence mixing up with the tradition and the efforts to recover national identity.>>>

en: Since the middle of the nineteenth century Latin American elites started to look to European tastes and goods in detriment of the local ones. Until then, the local communities had developed a wide range of local products, in interaction with their natural and cultural environment. The emergence of the Protected Denomination of Origin (PDO) in Europe was an answer to the need of protection and promotion of the local cultural heritage. In Latin America, this concern took a long time to developed. This article is focused in our research in the Archive of the Instituto Nacional de Propiedad Industrial de Chile (INAPI), from the beginnings of the twentieth century to the middle Emiliano Núñez. “El paradigma europeo en la industria de vinos y licores de Chile: oporto, jerez y cognac hecho enla empresa Mitjans” / “The European Paradigm in the Wine and Spirits Industry in Chile: Oporto, Jerez and Cognac Made in Mitjans Company”. RIVARVol. 3,9, ISSN 0719-4994, IDEA-USACH, Santiago de Chile, septiembre 2016, pp. 130-146.of it. Specifically, we will analyze the registration of trademark and products from Mitjans Company, specialized in wines and spirits. Our goal is to compare the products registered by Mitjans in light of the trend to valueEuropean –especially French–goods and tastes in detriment of the local ones. We consider this task is relevant as a contribution to the discussion of the role played by big companies in this process.>>>

en: The present work aims to analyze the scope of the concept of Valorization applied to territorial resources (especially food) and in relation to the Territorial Development. Given the widespread use of “Added Value” concept, based mainly on its economic sense and the possible effects of this on the territory, the article proposes to mobilize the concept of integral valorization. This concept invites to consider at the same level of importance the social, cultural, patrimonial, economic and environmental aspects. It also allows including and recognizing pre-existing values to the action. Marcelo Champredonde y Joaquín González Cosiorovski. “¿Agregado de Valor o Valorización? Reflexiones a partir de Denominaciones de Origenen América Latina” / “Added Value or Valorization? Reflections from Apellations of Origin in Latin America”. RIVARVol. 3, Nº 9, ISSN 0719-4994, IDEA-USACH, Santiago de Chile, septiembre 2016, pp. 147-172.The valorization conceptalso allows shift the focus of the analysis so that it does not focus only in the product. In order to relate this concept to territorial development, we suggest centering the focus of the analysis in the actors involved in the process of valorization, particularly at a local level.>>>
