en: The present study was aimed to recognize the type of attitudes that university students havetowards the accreditation of university programs. To fulfill this objective, it was designed andvalidated a Scale of Attitudes Towards Accreditation CareerEAHC, which showed satisfactorypsychometric properties in terms of reliability and validity. The sample included 179 universitystudents of Law, Management and International Business programs. In general, it could seethat students showed positive attitudes towards accreditation and no significant differences inthe variables of academic program and sex. It is suggested to apply the scale in other popula-tions and institutions.>>>

en: Currently, statistics related to bullying generate preoccupations in relation to their explorationand measurement. The efforts to study the problem produce ambiguous results and differencesabout the prevalence of this problem, which adopts different dimensions at all ages. For thatreason, the present study explored the existence and characteristics of the bullying in univer-sities. Four focal groups were formed, in which 28 university students participated, ranging 18to 25 years old, in their majority women. The contributions were examined through an analysisof content by categories. The results show that bullying in universities may become a high andthreatening aggression, but it is different of that living in other school levels, since the victim isnot exhibited, but hidden in order to wear him/her out and to scorn him/her in an apparentlyunnoticed way.>>>

en: The objective of this study was to identify the structure of practices of evil violence in 54 el-ementary schools in the northeast of Mexico, particularly in the city of Saltillo, Coahuila. Theintentional sample included 529 children aging five to 13 years. The Record of Perceptions ofthe School Dynamics, which consists of 78 items, was used and of which two factors wereinitially generated: impressions of a perverse world and perverse attitudes. Five factors that in-tegrate this type of violence were formed: perverse attitudes, attitudes at school, protective at-titudes, attitudes of rejection, and attitudes of the teacher. It is concluded that the impressionsof a perverse world that children have are intimately related to perverse practices that may beappearing in educational contexts.>>>

en: The aim of this paper is to show the psychological effects in the mental health, derived fromthe psychosocial violence and insecurity in young and adult people of the Mexican state ofCoahuila. For this study, the battery Psychosocial Evaluation of the Experience of Vital Eventswas used to diagnose the subjective perception of violence in the cities of Coahuila which hasthe highest incidence of violent events. The correlations among the socio-demographic vari-ables and the state peculiarities, the psychological variables linked to the experience of the psy-chosocial violence from the model of social representations, and the implications and effectsthat the violent events did have in the people’s lives were analyzed.>>>

en: The aim of this work consisted in studying the symptomatology of posttraumatic stress disor-der (PTSD) in children who would have witnessed violence on the street and currently living inCiudad Juarez. For the first hypothesis, it was expected to find a high percentage of childrenwitnessed violence on the street with scores above the cut-off ofPTSD, being this percentagehigher than the obtained in the control group. The differences in the study group about if thePTSDwas present or not, were measured. The sample consisted of 59 children of both sexes, aged 7 and 12 years old. The results show that a third part of the children witnessed violenceon the street scored higher than the cut-off in thePTSDscale.>>>

en: In order to identify the relationship between anxiety and self-esteem, as well the differencesbetween female and male children, the Spence’s Anxiety Scale for Children and the Self-esteemScale of Reyes and Hernandez were used. The participants were 60 girls and 49 boys fromfifth and sixth grade who were selected by a non-probabilistic sampling. It was noted a slightdifference between boys and girls which previous research has refuted. The results show theinfluence of the social environment in self-esteem and anxiety of both groups.>>>

en: The purpose of this study was to determine the predictive level of seeking of sensations andimpulsivity of an antisocial behavior in adolescents. 408 adolescents participated. 49.8% menand 50.2% women. To measure the impulsivity, an adapted Plutchik Scale version was used, consisting of 14 items; antisocial behavior was evaluated throughPOSIT, a version adapted to beused in Mexico, also of 14 items. In addition, the Sensation Seeking Scale was also used, consis-ting of three dimensions: search and adventure and risk, seeking pleasure, and caution; all scalesused did have a Likert format with four response options. The results showed that impulsivityand risk seeking accounted for 31% of the variance of the antisocial behavior.>>>

en: The aim of this study was to examine the relationship among psychosocial adjustment in retire-ment, subjective well-being, frequency of leisure activities, and socio-demographic variables inMexican retired. 181aged people with a mean age of 69.12 years and a mean of 11.21 years ofretirement, participated. Results show a relationship among psychosocial adjustment in retire-ment, subjective well-being, frequency of leisure activities (with sex differences between malesand females), and socio-demographic variables (sex, educational level, health status, and maritalstatus). These variables must be considered to promote a higher psychosocial adjustment andsubjective well-being in retired populations.>>>

en: The aim of this research was to explore the causes of apathy, lack of motivation, disinterest, reluctance, and lack of participation in Mexican adolescents. 200 adolescents of both sexes, ranging 13 to 15 years old, participated. The Apathy’s Causes Questionnaire was applied. It wasobserved that teenagers feel apathy to participate in family dynamics, in school, and in physicaland religious activities, probably because they consider those activities will not produce anygood to their lives, both biologically (survival), and psycho-socio-culturally (to be more andbetter than others and themselves). These indicators entail risks, and also suppress in them theopportunity to develop their own potential.>>>

en: The aim of the study was to determine the discriminatory power of the Scale of Appropriationof Physical Space to a sample of urban residents of Hermosillo (Mexico). Through a non-prob-abilistic intentional sampling, 77 adult men and women, with an average age of 32, were select-ed. Results show a high internal consistency index and three factors: attachment-identification,actions towards the colony, and daily activities. Discriminating analysis evidenced differencesbetween the first function and the other ones, as well as a high positive value of canonical cor-relation, suggesting the discriminating power of the first function. Finally, it is concluded thatrecognizing various types of urban residents by the appropiation of the physical space that theydo offers the possibility of specific intervention actions.>>>

Using the method of moral dilemmas, a problematic situa-tion related to such conservation was exposed. en: Heart rate variability analysis (HRV) is a method for evaluating the neural modulation of heart;using the moving polynomial filter method, is possible to quantifyHRVcomponents from briefperiods of time. This method was tested in order to evaluate if the period of analysis modi-fies respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA), Traube-Hering-Mayer wave (THM) and heart period (HP)estimations. Likewise, it was tested if interactions between these components were differentdepending on the analysis duration. Eighteen healthy adults with a mean age of 24 years participated. Samples of cardiac activity belonging to distinct sleep stages were chosen, thenHRVcomponentswere calculated for different time segments. It was observed that in all sleep stages amplitude values ofRSAandTHMincreased with long term analysis, although these values had significant positive correlations.Significant correlations were also found between theRSA-THM, andRSA-THMcomponents during short termperiods. In conclusion, the dynamic changes in autonomic heart modulation may be adequately analyzedby means of the moving polynomial filter method.>>>
